We are very excited to announce the Third Annual Re- Run 5K run/walk, taking place on Saturday morning March 24, 2012. This family oriented event for runners of all ages and abilities will be held in the Eau Gallie Arts District. The retro themed Re-Run will feature blast-from-the-past 1980 AND 1990′s flair. There will be team competitions, prizes and giveaways for participants, as well as a free kid’s fun run. Wear your old race t-shirts (re-run get it?) or dress in 80′s or 90′s style for more prizes and fun! With Running Zone managing the race and the post-race awards party on the Squid Lips beach and deck, this is a fun and unique race for Brevard runners.

Dinosaurs: Dead or Alive?

Brevard Zoo is bringing back robotic dinosaurs in 2012 with a brand new exhibit and experience for families. Dinosaurs: Dead or Alive? opens February 18 featuring 16 life-sized animated, robotic dinosaurs. The temporary exhibit runs February 18 to May 28, 2012 and will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with last admission into the exhibit at 4:15 p.m. Zoo members get in early at 9:30 a.m. The cost to experience Dinosaurs: Dead or Alive? is $5 per person and members receive $1 off. Workshop for Feral Cat Colony Caregivers

Space Coast Feline Network will be conducting a workshop for feral cat colony caregivers at the Central Brevard Library at 308 Forrest Ave. Cocoa, FL 32922 on Saturday, February 11, from 1 PM to 4 PM. The workshop is for those involved with the care of feral cats and includes demonstrations on how to use traps and discusses feral cat issues. This workshop is free of charge. Call the Helpline to register at 631-7729. SCFN is a non-profit organization dedicated to decreasing the feral cat population in Brevard County through low-cost spay/neuter services for feral cat caregivers. They also provide education to caregivers at quarterly workshops held at the Central Brevard Library in Cocoa.
