2014-10-26
duration: 1 hour
business: Chamber Music with Friends
category: Theatre/Performances

Musicians from ensembles across Space Coast come together for a free program of classical duets. This intimate coffee hour event will include music, refreshments, and a unique dialogue between performers and audience. Audiences of all ages and musical backgrounds welcome. The event will begin at 1 pm at Trinity Wellsprings Church (638 S Patrick, Satellite Beach) and last approximately 1 hour. More information: Chamber music began as music played with and among friends. The name even comes from performances occurring in private chambers. This free recital celebrates the personal nature of chamber music. We take you out of the formal classical setting, and invite you to join us for an afternoon of coffee, cookies, music, and friends (either in person or via livestream). This is not your stereotypical classical concert, but one in which there will be a constant dialogue between performers and the audience, short breaks and chatting in between each piece, and, of course, coffee and cookies! The experience is designed to bring the rich chamber music repertoire into a comfortable coffee house or tea time setting. We welcome friends of all ages and of all musical backgrounds. There are few organizations highlighting chamber music in this area, so recital brings together musical friends from several ensembles all across the Space Coast. Performers include: Jessica Pollack, clarinet, Central Florida Winds Jodi Boeddeker, flute, Canticle, Central Florida Winds Casey Dodd Kathy McCreary, clarinet Space Coast Symphony Orchestra Bliss Carter, oboe, Central Florida Winds Loretta Anne Weierich, violin Melbourne Community Orchestra, Vero Beach Chamber Orchestra This recital features a program of duets–the most intimate ensemble possible–and includes: A world premiere written for this concert by Andy Normann, composer Steam by Chelsea Komschlies Stubborn as Hell by Stacy Garrop Lament by Daniel Morel Duetissimo by Reiner Kuttenberger Chamber Music with Friends embraces intimacy, but not formality. All ages and musical interests are welcomed. Come as you are and we can’t wait to meet you.
