Local Tech Company Experiences Rapid Growth and Joins Million Dollar Club

SolTec Electronics, a start-up technology company on the Space Coast of Florida has displayed some impressive and aggressive growth, despite an economic recession across the nation. Just months after receiving the Make Mine a Million $ Business award from Count Me In, a non-profit organization which supports woman-owned firms in growing their businesses, Dawn Gluskin, the founder & CEO of SolTec Electronics was the first of the awardees to hit the $1 million revenue-to-date mark.
Dawn Gluskin, who has over 15 years of experience in sales and marketing decided to take the jump into entrepreneurship less than two years ago, when her daughter was just 7 months old. “I’ve always had a strong passion for business and leadership. Working for others had its moments, but I knew I’d never be completely happy until I started my own company,” says Gluskin. She literally built the company from ground up: $0 to $1 million. She attributes the company’s success to leveraging relationships within the industry, superior service & quality, thinking outside of the box, utilizing social media, and, of course, some good old-fashioned hard work!
SolTec Electronics offers strategic procurement solutions to electronic manufacturing clients around the globe. Their niche market is obsolete, long lead-time, and other hard-to-find semiconductors. SolTec Electronics works with clients to help them find solutions that help them avoid costly board redesigns, production "line down" situations and other undesirable circumstances. They experiences an 800% increase in sales in 2009 and have already doubled their revenues in 2010, with the year only half way over.
Only 3 percent of all female-owned businesses hit the million-dollar revenue mark, compared with 6 percent of all male-owned businesses, according to 2002 Census figures.
