With help from such factors as the booming cruise and cargo traffic at Port Canaveral and the multi-million dollar contracts secured in the last two years by local corporations such as Harris Corporation, Brevard County has the in-depth business and industrial resources to build an even better future. 

Florida also offers some benefits that make the state an economically healthy climate for individuals and businesses.  For starters, the state has no individual income taxes.  Both state and local legislators work to keep property tax rates down, and the state and several local municipalities offer special incentives to businesses that locate or expand in their city limits.

Corporate incentives include ad valorem tax exemptions, tax refunds and credits, Enterprise Zones, one-stop permitting, workforce development programs and more.  The Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast, the Brevard County Commission and the Brevard’s state legislative delegates cooperate to preserve an environment that encourages growth and development.  These features help put more money in personal and corporate pockets, thus expanding Brevard businesses and putting more people to work.  It allows residents to have more disposable income to spend for goods and services.
