Brevard Agents Seeking Assistance On Locating Missing Merritt Island Woman
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance in locating a missing Merritt Island woman identified as Susan Cochran, last seen on May 12, 2013 around 7:00 AM. Ms. Cochran is 35 years of age, approximately 5’04”, 118-130 lbs. with blue eyes and blonde hair. See full story NR13-48 (pdf)

New Crime Prevention Task Force Announcement

Sheriff’s Office Arrests Melbourne Man For Child Pornography
A cooperative investigation between agents from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation has culminated with the arrest of seventy-one-year-old David O’brien at his home located at 4095 Turtlemound Road, Melbourne, relative to the possession of child pornography.  See full story NR13-45 (pdf)

Citizen Tip Leads to Port St John Burglary Arrest

Hoover Middle School Student Arrested on Gun Charges
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office arrested 15-year-old Joshua E. Harshaw of Melbourne, for the Possession of Firearm on School Property and Carrying a Concealed Firearm. Burglary Suspect Caught On Surveillance Video

Agents Search for Attempted Murder Suspect
Deputies found an adult female and her child at the residence with serious injuries. The investigation determined that the victims had been beaten with a blunt object by 37-year-old Kevin R. Fitser, the former boyfriend of the adult victim. See full story NR13-40 (pdf)  SUSPECT CAPTURED

Sheriff’s Agents Solve 1988 Cold Case Homicide
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office culminated a cold case homicide investigation concerning the August 26, 1988, death of 52-year-old Wanda Reapp of Melbourne.  On Tuesday, April 30, 2013, the Brevard County Grand Jury indicted 87-year-old Benjamin Reapp, on charges of First Degree Premeditated Murder in the death of his wife. See full story NR13-37 (pdf)

Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest Former Merritt Island High School Student
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 17-year-old, Alexander C. Clark, of 575 Baker Road, Merritt Island, for the Threat to Discharge a Destructive Device and Disturbing School Function during Assembly. See full story NR13-36 (pdf)

Sheriff’s Agents Seek Merritt Island Robbery Suspects
Deputies responded to a strong armed robbery in the parking lot of the Merritt Square Mall, 777 East Merritt Island Causeway, at approximately 4:00 pm today. Sheriff’s Office Collecting Unused and Expired Medications

Suspect and Deputies Identified in Shooting Incident

Agents Arrest Man Who Traveled From England For Sex With Child
Agents culminated a four-month investigation with the arrest of thirty-nine-year-old Shuhel Mahboob Ali, a citizen of Great Britain, for traveling to the United States to meet a child for sex. The arrest was the result of a joint investigation led by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the Department of Homeland Security/Homeland Security Investigations Office, Cocoa Beach Resident Agent Office and the United States Attorney’s Office.  See full story NR13-30 (pdf)

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is currently searching for a missing Satellite Beach woman identified as Charmaine Ochs, last seen on April 10, 2013, at approximately 10:30 PM. Sheriff’s Office Continues Satellite Beach Homicide Investigation
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is continuing the death investigation at 55 Sea Park Boulevard, Satellite Beach. The investigation was initiated at approximately 7:00 P.M. Multi-Agency Operation Nets Over 200 Arrests 
Sheriff Wayne Ivey and Chief John Lau have announced the culmination of a 60-day intensive enforcement operation dubbed, “Operation Clean Sweep”, which resulted in 236 arrests and the seizure of 28 firearms, 3 Meth labs dismantled, and the seizure of $17,000.00 in cash.  See full story NR13-24 (pdf)

Multi-Jurisdiction Operation Results Press Conference Notice
Today at 2:00pm there will be a press conference at the Titusville Police Department located at 1100 John Glenn Boulevard, Titusville, to discuss the results of a multi jurisdiction operation by members of the Titusville Police Department, Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and the DEA.  Sheriff Ivey and Chief Lau will be available to answer any questions the media may have.  If you have any questions please feel free to call 321-636-4665.  NR13-23

Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest Owner of Cocoa Smoke Shop
Brevard County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant on Kronic AM, located at 26 Forrest Avenue in Cocoa. Sheriff’s Agents arrested the owner, 37-year-old Brian Woodring, for an arrest warrant relative to the Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with the Intent to Distribute.  See full story NR13-20 (pdf)

Sheriff’s Agents Investigating Burglary to Merritt Island Business
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a burglary to Bucks Tobaccoria, located at 2425 N. SR 3, Merritt Island. During the early morning hours on February 18, 2013, a white male suspect wearing a light colored hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, gloves and sunglasses forced entry into the business.  See full story NR13-19 (pdf)
