HealthFirstThis week, two people were killed and several others injured when a tour bus carrying senior citizens flipped on US-27.  This accident is the latest highlighting a growing need for emergency first-aid training for those responsible for chaperoning seniors.

"Anyone who's escorting a group of senior citizens absolutely needs to know basic life-saving procedures," said David Schmitt, leading Continuing Education instructor for the Health First Training Center. "Seniors are especially vulnerable to injuries, and knowing how to treat them in an emergency situation when you're on the road can be the difference between life and death."

Tomorrow, in the aftermath of this week's deadly accident, Health First will be offering FREE first aid, CPR, and AED training to chaperones at the Wickham Park Senior Center in Melbourne.  Since chaperones are truly the first responders for seniors they escort on trips around the world, knowing how to treat seniors in an emergency situation is critical.

The training will take place on Thursday, February 25, at 1:30 pm in the
Wickham Park Senior Center, 2785 Leisure Way in Melbourne.

The program is provided by The Training Center of Health First, which offers more than 100 years of life-saving teaching experience.
