Celebrate Cinco De Mayo
Not Mexican Independence Day (thats in September), but more a reason to drink Margaritas and enjoy other Mexican fare. Cinco de Mayo is commemorated with food, drinks and friends.
Cinco de Mayo marks the 1862 battle of Puebla and the unlikely victory of Mexican troops over the French army. The holiday is still celebrated in the region of Puebla but not considered a national holiday in Mexico. Never ones to turn down a celebration, Americans everywhere observe the day in bars and restaurants everywhere with margaritas, tacos and more.
Consider this twist on the traditional drink if youre feeling caliente!
Jalapeño Margarita
Ingredients
16 oz Patrón Silver
8 oz Patrón Citrónge
1 jalapeño, sliced
8 oz fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon sugar
kosher salt, lime wedges
jalapeño slices and ice
Method
In a blender or food processor, pulse jalapeño slices 3-4 times with lime juice. Strain the lime juice to remove all jalapeño pieces. Mix lime juice with sugar, Patrón Silver, and Patrón Citrónge in a pitcher. Chill in refrigerator. Serve in salt-rimmed glasses with lime wedges and sliced jalapeños.

Patrón Perfect Margarita
Ingredients
1 1/2 oz Patrón Silver
1/2 oz Patrón Citrónge
orange juice
1/2 juice of a small lemon
sweet and sour mix
lime wheel for garnish
Method
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add all of the ingredients and shake well to have an even mixture. Pour into a martini glass.
Garnish with a lime wheel.
